Hey F-list.

I’m trapped at home by a fierce heat wave and feeling listless. I need your help to get me writing so I’m calling out for prompts.

I’ve got a board of ideas but need your help. Pick a prompt and a fandom or pairing and I’ll do my best to write it for you. I’m open to everyone – Tribe, Speed, Bats X-fans and anyone else who might find this.

Speed/X, Vision for oxymoronic

That's it for tonight. It took me three attempts to spell Detector. More sleep required!

Speed blinked, shaking his head and instantly regretting it as a Disneyland parade of fireworks went off behind his eyes. The car was gone, launched over the edge and into the sea. Only the residual stickiness of the Quick-save held him on the track as it dissolved too fast, failing to protect him as he bounced along the tarmac.

The left side of his body was screaming with pain, his arm no longer answering him as he tried to move. Blood was pooling, slick and hot under his jacket, though everything else around him was rapidly cooling. The steady rain poured down his face, stinging his abraded skin.

Tampered Quick-save. Speed thought to himself, feeling the strength in his limbs leeching out with the rain. I’m gunna die...just like Rex.

A bright light opened up in his eyes and Speed saw a figure walking towards him, translucent and shimmering.

“Hold on Speed. Helps coming.” The figure called, hovering over him as he lay on the track.

I don’t want help. Speed thought but the words wouldn’t leave his mouth. I want to be with you Rex.

“Hold on Speed. Just hold on.”

The light vanished abruptly as the medical team pushed their way in. The numb peace that had spread over Speed was shattered as he was forced into a neck-brace and lifted onto a stretcher.

Racer X stayed kneeling on the sodden track as they moved Speed into the ambulance. A gentle hand closed around his shoulder.

“He’s in good hands X.” Inspector Detector said softly. “There’s nothing more you can do for now.”

“Yes there is.” Racer X growled, running his gloved fingers though the dissolving puddle that should have been Speed’s Quick-save. “I can find the bastard who did this and make him pay.”

OMG. I've not read any ~angst for these two in aaaages and this pressed all the right associated buttons. ♥ I LOVED IT. Especially blood was pooling, slick and hot under his jacket. Such a (not so) gorgeous image.

Totally not what came into my head, but even more awesome because of it :)

You know me, I just love torturing Speed. It’s those eyes. Make me want to club him like a baby harp seal!
