Hey F-list.

I’m trapped at home by a fierce heat wave and feeling listless. I need your help to get me writing so I’m calling out for prompts.

Tim/Bernard, Stop for faile_neume (Part 2)

Tim kept his eyes on Jason, willing himself not to watch Bernard wobble on the precipice as Jay jerked on the rope. “Neither you nor I are meant to be the Bat. You know that as well as I.”

This pushed Jay to the edge, his madness finally cracking. “I AM BATMAN!” He screamed to the night air, a flick of the rope sending Bernard over the edge.

Without a thought Tim jumped, tucking his arms close to fall faster, willing himself through the air to catch Bernard. The jump line he was barely aware of firing cracked tight just as he wrapped his arms around Bernard, his shoulder screaming with pain as it wrenched, taking their combined weigh. Tim swung them hard, managing to land on a nearby rooftop. Bernard groaned around the gag as he tumbled out of Tim’s arms, hitting the tarmac with a crunch.

“Drake? What the hell?” Bernard’s voice was lost and broken as Tim pulled the gag from his mouth.

“I never meant to involve you in this?” Tim muttered, methodically cut Bernard free. “How badly hurt are you?”

“I’ll live.” Bernard said, groaning as he tried to get to his feet, flinching away from Tim’s touch.

Tim stopped him, kneeling at Bernard’s side to check the blond’s ankles. “We’re gotta get you out of here before Jay decides to he’s up for another round.”

“So who the hell are you? And who was that whack job?” Bernard asked, leaning heavily as Tim took his weight.

Tim sighed heavily. “I’m Tim Drake and that’s my brother Jason. Dying made him crazy and now I have to work out how to stop him.”

Bernard looked at him long and dark. “You and I need to talk.”
