Hey F-list.

I’m trapped at home by a fierce heat wave and feeling listless. I need your help to get me writing so I’m calling out for prompts.

I’ve got a board of ideas but need your help. Pick a prompt and a fandom or pairing and I’ll do my best to write it for you. I’m open to everyone – Tribe, Speed, Bats X-fans and anyone else who might find this.

<Cool! Two new things – a new friend and a new fandom. I’ve yet to write Holmes despite the massive slash value. Thanks for the challenge.</i>

Holmes ran his fingers over the false moustache, irked by the fact he’d had to make do with what he had on his person. The best of his disguises were back at Baker St which was undoubtedly under guard. Lestrade may act the fool but he would make every show of doing his job, if nothing else to appease his betters.

Infiltrated the hospital was far easier than he expected and he slipped unchallenged into Watson’s room. All the medical phasing poised on his tongue should he be confronted slipped away as he surveyed his dear friend’s condition. Watson’s left side was a fretwork of cuts and burns, shrapnel of wood and steel still showing against his skin. So the surgeon had not yet been.

He circled the bed, taking everything in. Clearly none of Watson’s injures were life threatening. The hospital was well appointed and staffed. Should he have needed, John would have been tended to by now. That gleaned fact heartened Holmes somewhat. In that instant, as the explosion tossed poor Watson like a child toy, Holmes has been forced to image life without him.

Life without Watson. It was not an appealing thought, however frequently this fresh engagement of his has threatened to make it a reality. Even if Watson did quit their shared chambers, at least he would always be available to consult in times of need, no matter how bothersome Watson may find the distraction from his practice.

“I would be lost without you.” Holmes muttered under his breath, surprised but his own words as he gazed upon his companion’s sleeping face. “Truly Watson, I would be lost.”

The click of heels, swift and foreshortened by the folds of a skirt, made Holmes reach for the clipboard, seeking a prop and summoning an accent that matched his garb as that blasted woman Mary strode towards him. “The surgeon will be here shortly.” He muttered, keeping his head low as one would to a lady of regard but her smile was knowing and sharp. For the first time he wondered if it was possible Watson had made a good match after all...

Bwhahaha. I feel like I've been rick-rolled or something. Looking though your interests I should have guessed really. Drew and I spend quite a bit of time last night debating how a stranger might have found my meme. It never occurred to me that it might have been because I invited you.
