munninHey F-list.
I’m trapped at home by a fierce heat wave and feeling listless. I need your help to get me writing so I’m calling out for prompts.
I’ve got a board of ideas but need your help. Pick a prompt and a fandom or pairing and I’ll do my best to write it for you. I’m open to everyone – Tribe, Speed, Bats X-fans and anyone else who might find this.

Date: 2010-01-13 06:44 am (UTC)Lucien stumbled, putting his hand out to steady himself as they poured over the plans of the fortress once time.
The others looked away, tactfully not noticing as Raze wrapped an arm around his commander’s waist. “You should rest.” His whispered, the deep baritone of his voice rolling like thunder.
Lucien shook his head violently, dislodging Raze’s grip as he grabbed one of the maps. “No. The vampires won’t give up that easily. If they mount an attack to claim the castle back we must be ready.” He gripped the table edge for support as he squinted at the plans, his eyes red with exhaustion.
Raze shook his head, taking command of the room. “We post watchers here, here and here.” He pointed along the defective walls. “The full blood Lycans to patrol the walls on the west and north sides and post guards on the sea gates. Three hour rotations and double the numbers at dusk.”
The other Lycans nodded, the plan was sound and well thought out and even their tired leader agreed. “Yes. Everyone else should get what rest they can.”
“Including you.” Gyorg said quietly.
Lucien smiled, clasping his friend’s arm. “That I will.” He let himself lean into Raze as they headed for the door.
For a moment Gyorg caught Raze’s eye, worry in his gaze as he looked at their injured leader. Raze returned his look with a sharp nod, understanding the trust the others had in him to watch over Lucian.
He led the smaller lycan upstairs and into a bedroom that had once belonged to one of the vampire lords. Laying his charge down on the bed he opened the windows, hoping to purge some of the smell.
“Thank you my friend.” Lucian muttered, his eyes half closed as he stretched out on the broad bed. “You should get some rest too.”
“Not until your wounds are cleaned.” Raze answered stubbornly, carefully stripping back the blood stained coat that hide most of Lucian’s wounds. Even with the crossbow bolts removed, his skin still burned black with silver poisoning. Raze found clean water and poured it gently over the cuts, his massive hand firm on Lucian’s shoulder as the smaller man trembled with pain and sorrow.
“You have not yet mourned her.” Raze observed, keeping his touch light.
“Too much to do. There wasn’t time.” Lucian whispered, tears welling in his eyes.
Tenderly Raze brushed his thumb over his commander’s cheek. “There is now.” He pulled Lucian close, cradling the smaller man in his lap, petting his mane as Lucian breathed racking sobs he could never show the others.
He cried for the woman he loved, for the life he had known and for the child he would never hold. He cried for those who had lost their lives and those who would face danger in the uncertain future he had created. He cried until he had no more strength to cry.
Lucian rested his head against Raze’s broad chest as the tears subsided. “You deserve better my friend.” He mumbled, his voice hazy with exhaustion as he leant into Raze’s embrace. “You deserve a commander who is stronger than this.”
Raze eased Lucian back onto the bed, pulling the covers up over the smaller man as his head lolled against the pillows. “I have a strong commander,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss on Lucian’s sleeping forehead. “I have a king.”
