I’m trapped at home by a fierce heat wave and feeling listless. I need your help to get me writing so I’m calling out for prompts.

Two for one?

Speed’s fingers traced the lines of Racer X’s face, feeling for the ties of his cowl and slipping it off slowly. “You are my brother.” It was neither a question, nor an accusation but in many ways a little of both.

“I’m sorry Speed but no. Your brother is dead.” X whispered, his hands resting gently on Speed’s hips.

“No. I can still see him.” Speed’s fingers traced the edges of X’s lips. “Here. When you smile.” He grinned, suddenly looking as young as he did that night Rex said goodbye. “Which isn’t often enough by the way.”

X frowned, catching Speed’s hands in his own. “Speed. I can’t...I can’t be Rex for you. That time is passed”

“I know.” Speed too frowned, looking up at him seriously. “I can’t ask you to be but...”

X breathed out slowly as Speed pressed against him. “Then what are you asking for Speed?”

Speed pushed up onto his toes, pressing a sharp kiss to X’s lips. “Love me. Not as Rex but as Racer X.”

“I can only be the one of them.” X cupped the back of Speed’s head, his fingers threading though his not-brother’s raven hair. “But that I can do.”
