I can imagine that early in his career, Clark had this sense of cockiness. It seems fitting that he would assume that things were exactly the way they appeared to him, but that through situations like this, his eyes would be opened and that would help make him the kind, understanding, fact-seeking man he becomes later on.
I really liked your exploration of this part of your 'verse. It fits nicely with the story enlarge. I hope to see more of the League and find out the fall out of this incident between Batman, Superman, and Dick at some point. I imagine the next conversation(s) would be rather interesting and provoking!
